Our Risk and Compliance function has a critical role to play in supporting, challenging and advising across all areas of the business through establishing policy, monitoring profiles, and identifying and managing forward-looking risk and compliance. Global Internal Audit provides independent, objective assurance to management and the risk and audit committees as to whether the framework of risk management, control, and governance processes, as designed and represented by management, is adequate and functioning.
We are currently seeking an eager and curious professional to join the Markets and Securities Services (MSS) Audit Internal Audit team, in the role of Internal Auditor. As the Internal Auditor you will work on risk-based thematic or t trading business audits from planning to reporting.

In this role, you will:
- Be working as part of the Markets and Securities Services audit team to perform control design and effectiveness testing, as well as discussing any issues with stakeholder and audit management.
- Proactively build your knowledge of Internal Audit methodology, best practices and the Markets and Securities Services business.
- Think about the future of the function and how we can improve efficiency, use data analytics and innovate to increase its value add to the Bank
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Knowledge and experience in Internal Audit, or a role in a Markets and Securities Services business or function;
- Demonstrate an ability to understand risks and controls as well as an appreciation of these within a business and enterprise-wide context;
- You must be an effective communicator, verbally and in writing, with convincing presentation, persuasion and influencing skills, even when delivering difficult messages to senior stakeholders;
- Dedicated to continually learning and improving your own skills and excellent at managing multiple competing priorities
- You will be an analytical thinker who is confident approaching areas outside of your expertise in a thorough and detailed manner, getting to the heart of the key features and aspects quickly and a solid team player, with a demonstrable desire to help the team achieve its objectives.
The base location for this role is London or Birmingham and with a hybrid working pattern.
