Description

The Controller will oversee all aspects of accounting and financial operations for the Garcia companies and related individuals. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with laws and regulations, and the development of efficient financial systems and processes. The Controller serves as a key financial advisor to leadership and supports strategic decision-making through timely and reliable financial insights. The ideal candidate has a strong background in financial reporting and internal controls.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•         Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
•         Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting systems, and processes to support scalability and efficiency and to mitigate risk.
•         Monitor cash flow and liquidity to support operations and strategic initiatives.
•         Final review and approval of all financial deliverables (financial statements, budgets, tax returns, etc.)
•         Provide financial analysis to support executive leadership and strategic planning.
•         Collaborate with operational divisions to provide financial guidance, reporting, and analysis that supports decision-making and business performance.
•         Lead and mentor the accounting team to foster growth and continuous improvement.
•         Monitor and analyze changes in tax and accounting regulations and assess application to and impact on all Garcia companies and related individuals.
•         Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED

•         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
•         7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
•         Strong knowledge of federal and state income tax regulations.
•         Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools.
•         Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
•         Sound judgement and decision-making ability.
•         Highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.

 EXPERIENCE/SKILLS DESIRED (NOT REQUIRED)

•         CPA license.
•         Public accounting experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

•         Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•         Ability to lift up to 10 pounds at times.
