Credit Union 1 is currently hiring for an Accounting Manager at our Rantoul branch. The Accounting Manager manages and supervises the Rantoul Accounting Department and is responsible for all the functions within the department.
Specific duties for the Accounting Manager role include (but are not limited to):
Oversee daily operations of department and handle non-routine matters that arise.
Train, direct, hire, motivate and discipline employees within the department to ensure quality member service and team work throughout the credit union.
Coordinate or perform all accounting functions to ensure complete and accurate financial data.
Responsible for monitoring RCP process as to timeliness, completion and follow up of the reconciliations and their outstanding items.
Handle project work as assigned.
Responsible for various tax forms, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the reporting.
Responsible for information needed by auditors/examiners.
Responsible for month end closing process.
Assist AVP Accounting and SVP Finance with various duties.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Keep all member and Credit Union business strictly confidential.
BS in Accounting or Finance or a minimum of five years of progressively responsible and proven accounting experience is required. Knowledge of regulatory requirements for financial reporting and ability to supervise subordinates effectively are required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary. Decision making/analytical skills imperative

In 1958, Chanute Military Credit Union opened its doors on the Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois to serve military personnel and their families.
