The Assistant Portfolio Manager will assist the VP/Investments and Trust Committee with the application of the department’s investment strategy and policy.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in establishing and implementing Investment Strategies for the Trust Department.
Review portfolios of assigned accounts and suggest options for potential purchase or sale of securities as necessary. Assist the Trust Administrators with investment decisions for accounts reviewed at the Trust Officer meeting.
Assist with the preparation and presentation of proposals and reports to existing and prospective clients.
Maintain and expand information base on financial securities and the marketplace through networking, peer contacts, literature reviews and conferences on an as needed basis
Assist the VP/Investments in conducting regular analyses of changing conditions in the securities markets and making recommendations for changes.
Meet monthly with Trust committee to present market analysis and comments
Assist the VP/Investments in selecting equity and fixed income brokers to best meet TheBANK’s objectives.
Assist the VP/Investment in monitoring the performance measurement and reporting systems for continued ability to meet client and committee needs.
Assist the VP/Investments with special projects and responding to RFPs
Review Mutual fund listing and make recommendations as to additions and deletions to the approved list. Participate in the management of the Model portfolios.
Continually review opportunities to automate and streamline investment management process.
Sell and promote TheBANK’s Retail, Loan, and Wealth Management products to potential and existing customers

Requires independence in decision making and problem solving and may require immediate action affecting TheBANK
Ability to present, explains, and sells commercial trust services
Four year college degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting
3-5 years of experience in investments or portfolio management
Requires independent judgment in setting priorities and meeting deadlines
Requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that affect the prestige of TheBANK
Ability to deal with working conditions that often involve intense concentration and stressful conditions
Continuous satisfactory job performance
Willingness to pursue Investment related certification (i.e., CFA, CFP) if not already held.
Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration
