D3 Financial Counselors Financial Planning Management Development Program
At D3 Financial Counselors, we believe the “sell first, and learn later” career path for people entering the financial planning career is a broken model, and should be a thing of the past. The D3 Financial Counselors Financial Planning Management Development (FPMD) program is designed to have our new employees learn the financial planning process, and grow the firm over time. This program addresses three very important issues, that we believe sets us apart from many of our competitors.
Having a Clearly Defined Succession & Continuity Plan
The FPMD program is designed to transition ownership of the firm by integrating junior planners in the financial planning process, learn each client’s unique situation, and learn to manage staff. From a client’s perspective, this helps answer two very important questions: Who will be working with me several years from now, and how will the firm continue operating if a key member of D3 were to be unable to work due to death or disability?
Building a Team With Areas of Specialty
The first three years of the FPMD program allows participants in the program to learn all areas of the financial planning process, and choose a specialty that they naturally gravitate toward. Developing areas of specialty is designed to build economies of scale, as well as give our FPMD candidates the highest likelihood of success by pursuing the areas of interest that they find most fascinating.
Having a Clearly Defined Career Path, With an Opportunity for Firm Ownership
Having a clearly defined career path provides a level of transparency for both D3, and potential hires, that we are accustomed to at D3. We believe that our four level program, ending with an opportunity to participate in the growth of the firm though ownership, can prevent stepping into a role where a natural “ceiling” will emerge in the career progression, making a career at D3 more than just a “stepping stone” to a new opportunity. We believe this career path will attract the best talent that the financial planning industry has to offer.
The program is outlined as follows:
