*Riverside Research is seeking a Senior Accountant for an opportunity at our NYC office, located in Lower Manhattan. This will involve supporting the general accounting needs of Riverside Research and all related entities including, accounts receivable, accounts payable, account reconciliations, account analysis and monthly close. This would also include identification and implementation of business process improvements to position the accounting back office function leveraging best practice processes and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the close.
Monthly Financial Reporting including Consolidation of Entities in accordance with GAAP
Compile, review and ensure accuracy of data between G/L system and reports
Prepare account reconciliations (monthly / quarterly as required)
Review account reconciliations of others
Prepare financial statements for management review including analysis of variances to budget
Support internal, external and government auditors and ensure compliance with Strong Internal Controls (Sarbanes-Oxley like), GAAP, CAS and FAR regulations as they pertain to accounting transactions
Assist with design and implementation of back office systems to ensure compliance with all regulations
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies
Accurate and appropriate cash applications processed with customer accounts
Maintain the fixed asset ledger in Excel and prepare for migration to fixed asset system
Perform Other Duties as Required
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance
Minimum – 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, Master’s in Accounting, a plus
Active CPA license and membership in Accounting Societies required
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, company and federal regulations, policies and procedures as they relate to financial statements
Knowledge of CAS and FAR government accounting is a plus
Training in the art of process improvement
